My e34 A/C works fine but only if it's blowing out the console vents. Anything else, (floor or defrost) blows out air that is super heated. I don't understand this. Suppose even in non A/C mode, shouldn't I be able to get outside air vented in that is only mildly warmed? In the winter, I'm using the defroster and then venting the sunroof to let out some of the heat, no matter what the temperature dials are set at. I can never get cold air at the floor level.
Also, in between the two center console vents, there is a dial that has red on one end and blue on the other ... hot vs. cold? I don't think it works or I'm using it wrong, how is it supposed to work?
Is this a common problem?
