Hey everybody, I bought a 1990 535i 2 months ago and have been looking for a CD changer for it. I can't find it anywhere: ebay, bmwe34.com, bmwcdchanger.com, etc...
Does anyone know where I can get this Pioneer 6 disc CD changer? I have the pre-wiring. I just need the changer.
post in the wtb section too, these surely are floating around somewhere. Unless there is a reason for you wanting a 17 year old cd changer, I would invest in a good, modern headunit that plays mp3s, you can get more songs on one mp3 disc than you can in all 6 discs.

Thanks guys. I want that old changer so I don't have to replace my stock radio. I like the stock look. Plus it will be an easy install compared to replacing the head unit where I would need special adapters and more than likely other stuff.
yea it looks alright...but it only needs the pak-2 adaptor so the volume doesn't blare but i still have my stock in my e34 an i think it's pretty good...
the headunit is REAL easy to install IF you buy the $12 wiring harness. Thats all you need, match colors with your aftermarket headunit, plug it in and your done. I'm not sure where you'd check for older components and you would want to make sure it did all the functions before purchasing. There are a lot of moving parts in there and can be expensive to have aligned/repaired/replaced. Good luck and if you decide to do the HU option, lemme know if I can help in any way.

7 bucks delivered. My shop sold them for $12 thats where I got the price from. The E34 platform doesnt require a plastic installation kit just the harness.

Thanks guys. And thanks for the advice and the info Bull. You talked me into shopping for a new head unit. I haven't shopped for one of these in years. I see the ones that are out now have alot of silver on the front and light up all these crazy colors. I don't want that crap. What happened to the radios from 10 years ago like the old Blaupunkts that were all black and lit up orange. That matches the interior/gauges perfectly. Any suggestions on a new/newer CD head unit that matches the interior? I'm looking for a radio that is all or mostly black (buttons too) and flat faced that has an orange display (preferably a simple display w/o flashing crap).
I didnt intend on changing your mind lol, I just try and state the facts and let you make your own decision. Nakamichi makes a really nice headunit, the colors are selectable to match our dash color. Unfortunately, most companies have gone to the silver look with flash (I dont care for it either), but the market is (and always will be) 16-25 year old males (sorry BB, Teg, etc.), so they gotta go where the market is.
