E34 airbag lamp is blinking

Hi.

Today I pulled the plastic around the steering column ( I think is it that way it is called ) and the leather part over the legs. i took the speedometer out and changed a bulb in it and back in place. But it the airbag lamp started to blink after i was pulling the plastic around the steering together.

What can it be? I cant se nothing is wrong?

Any time you work with the steering column, your best bet is to disconnect the negative of the battery. This would cost you a trip to the dealer for reset. It should take about 3 minutes to reset if nothing else is wrong, but they would take over half hour. GLuck

Aah snap.. I think I'll get a new service/airbag resetter. I've got one, but its not capable of resetting the airbag..
