E34 540i Steering box.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a replacement steering box for my e34 and I have found a couple that tsay they were out of an e38 740i and that it will fit into my car. Now I'm obviously sceptical and wondered if this is true and is it the same box that would of been fitted to the 540 e34's?

Also does anyone on here know anywhere else I could get a reconditioned box from? I'm in the uk so anywhere around there would be great first otherwise i don't mind paying the shipping if needs be.

Hmmmmm... I might say a 740i e38 would fit an e39, I dont think it would fit an e34 though. Have alook at the diagrams here of both..
