TUF540 n00b Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: australia Car: E34 540 Posts: 11 Photos:	e34 540 valve cover gasket replacement Hi all, im about to replace the valve cover seals in my e34 540, and was wondering if there is a guide or any tricks to the job. It is an aussie version built 4/94.. Also does anybody know when bmw changed from nikasil bores to the alusil bores.. thanks Nick

No tricks for the gaskets as they are straight forward to do...
Nikasil/Alusil change was around '96-'98, they were recalled !

TUF540 n00b Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: australia Car: E34 540 Posts: 11 Photos:	thanks dabsy . i done it today and it was straight forward and pretty easy, a fairly tight fit with the a/c hoses though.. And that crappy flakey paint, what were they thinking..
