Can anyone tell me the part number of the automatic trannie in my 94 E34 525td, and/or what other models it was installed in?
A thrust washer (I think) was found in 3 pieces in the sump during a service along with sundry metal filings in the filter.
Apparently this is not good and I might be better off finding a good used one to replace it.
Is it a GM transmission?
Land rover may fit the same, not sure, I would google it, punch yor part number in and see what happens, you may have to add BMW or what ever car you have in mind.

I stepped in a plate of Pasta the other day - now I have to worry about my Carbonara footprint!
Is it easy, or even possible, to fit a Jatco (or something else) to my 525td if I can't find the proper replacement. They seem to be hard to find here in New Zealand.
thanks
