E34 5251 Interior Trim

Hi, New to the forum here! I currently own a 1992 525i, 5 speed, with 119,000 miles on it, and everything on the car is in great condition except for the interior. All of the wood trim is in great condition except for the shifter surround, which is cracked and peeling up from the base. Does anyone know where to get peices of trim that is sold seperately? I have found a few sites that sell them as sets only. I am considering replacing the wood around the shifter with vinyl instead of wood. Please post any pics of your trim. Any advice would be great!

Tufftoy...for sure you are back to our forum...and I hope you will enjoy your stay with us....but I am not sure how the vinyl is going to look when you mix it with wood trims....and since it is sold in sets; you may want to search for the individual piece at auto wrecker places....late model/foreign autos etc.....good luck

My trim (vinyl) on the doors is totally rooted.

The heat in Australia in the summer (up to 40C - 100+F) is very bad for it.

The trim has shrunk. I am going to see if i can still get the vinyl in this dark blue colour from BMW then vacuum form it myself.

Wood and vinyl will look silly. My mate did it (wood on vinyl though) and it looks silly.

You can probably get that wood panel off ebay germany if you are prepared to look out for it. You can always lighten it in the sun quite quickly if you need to match it to your other timber

Well, I went a head and took off the old wood trim and installed some vinyl trim until I find a good source to get more wood. Here are the results.
