I'm trying to install two aftermarket amplifiers in the trunk of my 525i, but first I need to run a power cable from the battery (located up front in my model) to the trunk. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is the best way to do this? I've installed stereos in a 1975 Honda Accord, a 1980 320i, a 1987 MB 300SDL, and a 1999 Mercury Sable, but my 1991 525i seems to be the most complex and difficult to take apart/put back together of all of them.
There is a wire that is ran from the engine compartment to under ur rear seat which is ran that way for the 5ers with larger engine... but i would recommend you run wiring thru the wirewall to the back because it needs to be fuse linked at the battery and not at the amp!
I'm trying to do the same but I have NO experience taking a car apart. I have the wiring but I need a bit of a guide so I wont bend or break too much. I have a 1991 520I. I've wired up a aftermarket HU fairly easily and got everything to work (AM/FM/CD). Now I want to replace the factory amp..I have a 4ch and have looked at many writeups on how to do a factory amp bypass/etc and want to put it in play.
