Hey sorry I kinda disappeared for awhile, but im back (not that I was ever super active).

First of all and most pressing is that my fuel door lock has seized, meaning when i turn my car off I cannot open the dor to refuel my car. I took it to a shop and they said it would take them awhile, is it something i can do quickstyle?

Also I think I killed the ignition because in order to start my car now i need to turn the key all the way, open the hood, and short circuit two contacts on the data port (is that what it is? i think so) Anyone have similar issues?

thanks again for your help guys, you know more than my local shop does methinks

PS its an 85 528e

On most of our bimmers, if you remove the trunk liner (inside the trunk, the vertical piece) next to the fuel door you can rech in and release the fuel filler door.

You may also be able to get into the fuel door with a butter knife.

I've never looked at the e28's, but most fuel doors are easily circumvented.
