E 46 Wheels On A E39 528i

I just bought these wheels and was wondering if i can fit them on my ride. I have a 1998 BMW 528I and i believe these wheels came from a 3 series BMW. Lt me know...Thanks

i understand that the offset is different but with the appropriate spacers, would they fit?

why would you want to fit 16 inch ?
i have some 17 inch from my 528i sport if you wan them

IMO 16s are a little small for that car.

The rims will fit with a 15 - 20mm spacer, however that becomes unsafe in some cases because the spacer is so large that it requires longer lug studs. (Also by about 20mm) and thats just kind of ridiculous, I think.
