So today, I had an appointment at the dealer. Since my car is still under warranty, I am glad I don't have to pay for all this stuff.
Few things started to come up, which from what have read some of them are common..
1. My driver seat clicks... It's annoying as hell...So, they will put a new rail in there. I am almost sure the problem will come back again in couple years.
2. My hood emblem is gone. The top part, what seems to be just a sticker, just came off.
3. One of my winshield washers doesn't work
4. My AM/FM radio button doesn't work
Car has 39k miles on it. It kind of sucks that small problems like that araise. They did give me a 325ix as a loaner and I have to say, I really like that car.....
I've replaced the Roundel on my hood, I think a rock or something bounced off it.
The window washer gets clogged with wax, if you've waxed the hood, but is easily unclogged with a needle, for future reference. If it was mechanical, it's still pretty easy to repair. I've done it on a number of different cars.
The radio and seat thing both suck. It may have just been a bearing failure on the seat, no biggie, but I hate troubleshooting enclosed electronics.
Glad you like the 325ix, I'd like to get my hands on one for a couple days.

Say what? Is that an 04 325xi? How in the world do they have Xis at your dealership....the only xi vehicle that we had was an 03 325xi Wagon.....and it was horrible...
I don't have a THING to add here except asking: is it a bad car? No. Is it a good dealership? Yes since they honored their warranty, Bad service? No alas the loaner, and simply put; I don't see an issue so what are we talking about here?
I don't know what year the car is, the badge says 325xi on it.
Just kind of sucks that small things like that break on a car that has 39k miles. I even forgot to tell them that my trunk lock stopped working. Ah well.. I guess I can make another appointment.
Sometimes I think I should of bought Japanesse car. I had 93 Altima in which I made 170k miles. Only thing that went bad on a car was a muffler and brakes.
Don't get me wrong though....I love BMW. Nothing compares to the feeling of driving a car like that. I just wish small problems like that didn't come up on my car. I am thinking right now :" It has 39k miles, I take care of it, but yet, small things break on it randomly, what happens when I hit 100K mark?" I really don't care that those engines go for 300k miles. I never had engine problems with any of my cars. What I care about is small things that break. You don't get many cars today that you can say "My engine broke"
To answer the questions:
1. Is it a bad car?
No, I like it, it's just small stuff that breaks really enoys me.
2. Is it a good dealership?
Well, It's BMW dealership, car is under warranty so it's kind of given that they have to fix it no?
3. Bad service?
I don't know. They didn't offer a loaner to me. I asked them after 20 minutes of waiting if I could get a loaner because I don't want to spend all day sitting there. So they gave me one, which is really nice. Thank God for that because I dropped my car off at 10am and it's 3:40pm and I am still waiting LOL
A friend of mine has a 1997 Toyota Camry with 200K plus miles, he never had any major problems with it except a brake caliber. Without going through a list of what I have spent on my 1997 528I I always say; it is a matter of personal taste/choices when it comes to our rides. I said it once and I say again having a BMWs is similar to falling in love with a very rich/pretty woman, do you think I'll get away with it at a White Castle dinner? LOL. Open to many interpretations, isn't it?
