While sitting in traffic for 2 hours at the Lincoln tunnel I tried to reach a bottle of water under my seat when I felt HEAT, so I touched just under the front edge of the seat (right between the legs. LOL) and boy I got a nasty burn on my 3 fingers/left hand. I mean whatever that thing was, it was damn HOT. No heated seats on, or any smell I mean nothing. So I reached 2 plugs one left and one on right side of this nasty THING (about 1”X4” solid box) part of the box or the wires had melted down and stock to my skin and thus a bad burn. Got home later and that THING was still cooling off.
Imagine if that THING caused a mini explosion and Where? right between my legs. A heck of an injury to explain (at home) coming back from NYC no less!!
I did not bother looking and see what the heck it was?? I can not even type! Anyone?
Wow Bill thats crazy,
Im glad you're ok. Lucky you didnt burn your **** off
Anyway i was trying to think of what could have burned you and im kind of drawing a blank, the only thing i could think of was possibly a seat motor. Take a pic of whetevr the heck it was and let us see. I hope the wiring wasnt seriously damaged otherwise you're gonna have a busy weekend getting that sorted out.
Good luck,

Guys thanks for support, I know it is kinda crazy post but eventually I'll get a pic or a part number once I get my fingers back. I never looked under to see what it is. And DT you're right and THAT would been 1/2 of the problem but to explain it at home would been much more crazy especially coming back from NYC :wink :wink
ya looks like seat motor wires.. I wonder if that particular motor was already all the way in 1 direction and then maybe the seat switch maybe got jammed in that direction like either physically or if maybe you had a jacket or something in that area which could have pressed the switch. The motors dont have any safety stops incorporated so this could have caused the motor to overheat.
looks like a nice little short you have there, should prolly rewire that. ASAP, you might have gotten a rather nasty "shock" from the wires touching metal and generating a ton of heat.
