door problem

I have a problem, I got mad and pushed the driver side door till the metal on the car frame (where the metal rod that holds the door to the frame) bent outwards a little bit, so now EVERY little bump I the info sytem goes BING!..DOOR OPEN!!...VERY ANNOYING..I have a bit of a temper problem ...is there any way to stop this??? or disable? thanks in advance!

This would be the striker or catch, silly question? did you try bending it back......

um...the rod isn't the part that's bent, it's where the rod conects to the door (on the door) that is *ripped* out ..i'll post a pic of it tomorrow to show you what i'm talking about....

Holy shit !!!!!!, You need a panel guy, who can weld a new plate in and tap new threads for the bolts, or a new door skin, probably find a complete door at a breakers.

I solved the 'BING' problem....I found the sensor...that's all I needed...thanks alot.. don't care about fixing the door
