We just fixed my door over the weekend. 95 5series 525i The latch was broken and wouldn't open from the inside; only opened from the outside. When we were done everything worked great. 25 mins later I went to open my car to find my door won't open at all. I can feel tension when I pull the inside door handle meaning the latch we fixed is still connected. What can I do besides paying $600 to the BMW dealership? I can't pry the door panel off with the door closed without breaking it. Not too happy about getting out of the passenger side all the time. Any advice greatly appreciated!
Only way I could get my back door open was to take out the back seat, remove the door seal and take the inner panel off after winding the window down. After taking out all of the screws I unclipped the top of the panel then used a long flat bar to pop as many of the trim clips off as I could , and then pulled the panel up quite hard. Some swearing was involved. However this was caused by a seized central locking motor not a door mechanism problem. Front door could be a bit harder
Have you tried re-synching your central locking?
Google BMW E34 door lock problems there are lots out there
Good luck
