I just put some wheels on my car and need to lower it a bit. I dont want to lower it to much because of the drive ways around here. How much would installing sport springs drop my car?
OEM springs will lower the car just a little over an inch. I was going to lower my car but decided not to, I even ordered the springs (AC Schitzer).
The mechanic at the shop suggested the H&R springs. This is the one that lowers the car 1.5" front, 1" rear and would look better. The other brand that is popular is the Eibach. Most other springs will lower the car 1.25 front, 1" rear. When it comes to springs, aftermarket ones seem to be better quality. I think Bavauto has springs in the clearance section for your car... check it out. Post pictures of your car if you can. I want to see those wheels...
BMW M-TEC Sports suspension is 15mm lower than the standard e39 - not a lot but apparently enough to make a big difference in handling as they are also a fair bit stiffer.
