people with 525's 528's and 530's do that... you have the pinnicle of that year... thats why i havent debadged mt 328i, if it was a 318, id think about it...
I like having the badge. I don't see much of a point to it, unless you're going for a "cleaner" look, but different strokes for different folks. I say leave 'em on.
I drive an E39 530i sport and when I upgraded to the M5 kit, I decided to debadge. It looks nicer and complements the M5 kit I installed. It's more Euro looking in my opinion. Whether to debadge or not really depends on your preferences. Though I must say, debadging does make the car look alot more symetrical. Even if I had a 540i I would debadge.
If you de-badge your 525, 530, 540 just keep in mind.... Don't go racing the M5's....
Most of the time when I see another E39 M5 we don't race at all... cause well we both know that, #1 our cars are basically the same and #2 they are both too insanely fast to even think of racing. But... then I get the E39 5er's that are debadged, with M rims, ricer exhaust, etc trying to race me. It's sad... really sad. I pitty the poor BMW.
I played tag with an e39 M5 on the freeway a few months back. Driver was probably mid 50s. Really cool guy. Gave each other the thumbs up as he transitioned to another freeway.
