I suggested that my wife get PZero Nero's for her '01 530i Sport-Premium Package. She asked the dealer. They recommend the Pirelli P6. Looking at Tire Rack, the PZero Nero has much better ratings from the Tire Rack reviews and the customer reviews. The dealer said the PZero Nero's won't work on the 01 530. Any reason they would say this? Tire Rack doesn't flag and it seems like the better tire.
Thanks,

I searched the P6 rating for you. It seems many people share the same feeling below; and I quote:
"I now know that I am not alone with having problems with these tires. I received them OEM when I purchased my Volvo S60 T5. At approximately 18K miles the front passenger side tire developed a buldge in the sidewall. I am beginning to smell a rat.. When I took it back into the dealer they said that I had hit a curb (although there was no visible scarring on either the tire or the wheel)... hmmm... Does anyone see a pattern developing here?"
P.S. I am taking the fifth since I did not try P6s on a bimmer because I like the michelin tires. Anyone?

Yeah, the P6 sounds like bad news to me. Makes you wonder about trusting dealer recommendations on other itesm...

This is good....I was about to create a post for TIRES.......Now, regarding the TireRACK....they have the Dunlop 2000 as a best seller....well that tire is OLD! I would guess 7 years old at least, as it was OE for my 540i 6sp....soooo I would take everthing the TireRACK has to say with a pinch of salt. OKAY now lets talk current tire technology....MICHELIN....the PilotSport 2 , now here is a great tire, it will cost ya some bucks....BUT, you have alot invested in your car, and even more in your loved ones....TIRES is not the place to try and save money (IMHO)....
I would be finding the best place to get these great tires....and JUST DO IT!!!!
PS: We cant get them in Canada - YET....so when I can, the hard-as-rock, no-good-in-the-rain DUNLOPS are coming off!!! and the PS2 is going on...END_OF_RANT....HAAAA
Just thought I would chime in and tell you that I bought the P zeros about a week ago and they have been much better than the Stock conti sports that were on there before. I have a 325Ci by the way

Thanks for all of your replies. Guess, we'll go with the P-Zero's...
