The Mrs. 2002 525 developed a miss Saturday and I was able to quickly isolate a bad #2 coil. Did not even think to call the dealer figuring the part would be way overpriced and went to Kragen, O'Reilly instead. $74 bucks later we are back in business. Called the BMW dealer this morning out of curiosity and was quoted $62 for a factory BMW coil including spark plug extender. Anyone else have an experience where the dealer actually had the best price on parts?
I think you'll find very sepcific parts may be cheaper at a dealer, but I'd always look at the 3rd party suppliers first. At the end of the day you decide what your happy to pay, if its too much you'll shop around to at least make sure you're not being gouged.
