dash computer lights

I have a '90 535i that I love but it's been having problems. I used to have three green blocks on the "computer light bar" under the speedometer but now only have one ... What does this mean? Is there a list of codes anywhere?

Also, my check engine light is on and my 535 is idling rough ... How can I find out what the light is trying to tell me?

The green bars just shows, how soon you need to get your car serviced. They are kinda annoying.

Check engine light is totally another territory. Get your car checked out or buy yourself a code reader and do it your self.

PS: the green bars have nothing to do with the check engine light or rough idling.

the green block are the serivce indicators. which mean when they are gone take it in and change the oil and possibly get things looked at as well.

but with the check engine light i would take it in now.

take it to a autozone for them to check the engine light its free. will give you a starting point on whats happening to your engine.
