Thumbs up

My steering column makes a creaking sound when it moves up and down. I've been to the dealer twice and each time they've replaced the motor; after a few days the sound comes back!!

I'm going in for third time and I'm not entirely confident they'll be able to fix it - any ideas out there?

thanks

does it go away after they replace it?

might not be the motor.. possibly the rack bearing..

It does sound like it just needs to be lubricated somewhere. It seems the creaking would be in the movement of the stering rack, not the motor itself. If all else fails, turn up the radio.

Thanks for your replies I'm going back to the dealer tomorrow and I'll talk to him about a lube job for the rack bearing

I'll let you know how it works out!
