Coolant level?

Can someone give me an idea of the necessary coolant level in a 540I Auto? The car is a 97.

What do you mean? The actual volume, in liters??

If you are talking about "level"...it should be between the min and max markings on the coolant tank.

your resevoir tank should have a plastic float. When you open the tank this should pop up with the markings stated above. My just broke off (1999) from heat and degradation. It is possible yours is missing or broken. just a thought ...good luck
