Coolant - BMW Forum

Whats up guys, i just got a 94 525i and new to these forums, i had a question regarding coolant. I have done alot of site searching and have seen people say only use BMW coolant, and i have seen other sites say it doesn't matter, as long as it is phosphate free, and nitrate and etc. Well i recently topped of my coolant with some Havoline Extended Life Coolant, which i diluted 50/50, and i was wondering if its ok? I mean the local dealer wants 27.00 dollars for BMW Coolant, thats ridiculous! Can someone fill me in i would appreciate it.

Well,
Your car didnt even roll off the line with the BMW long life coolant so I wouldnt be too concerned. The fact that you actually changed it makes you head of most people :-)
Just keep doing your bi-annual flushes and you will be fine.
