Which colour

Hi guys, a little help needed please....

535i sport, 1991, According to paperwork i have it says Alpine white.

After getting a spray of Alpine white from BMW it is not even a close match the car looks a lot brighter white than the Alpine white.

Careful looking show no signs of respray anywhere...

Where would the paint code be on the car....

Any help greatfully appreciated.....

Not positive, but I think it is part of the VIN #...bottom drivers side of the windshield or on the drivers door. The dealer should be able to decode it for you. The Vin may also be on your insurance card.

Shivy is right, dealer can decode by vin. Also you can check the left side front shock tower. Its normally there.

A 1991 ...the paint is probably faded and weatherd that much or they just changed the color slightly.

Didn't they change the mixture of the colours a while back??

I have known companies here in the UK to change the colours but keeps the names (go figure!!) such as Rover (no wonder they went bust!!!)
You say you got the paint from BMW, but did they select it from you VIN number??

Other than that..... Time to get the smooth cutting compound out , along with a tin of Elbow grease!!

yes paint was from bmw who got all details from vin number.
no amount of rubbing compound would help due to the bigger colour difference.

found someone who will match the paint for me and spray in the two little bits that need the spraying doing.... £120...

cheers for the help guys.
