Not positive, but I think it is part of the VIN #...bottom drivers side of the windshield or on the drivers door. The dealer should be able to decode it for you. The Vin may also be on your insurance card.
cheers guys the colour on the vin is alpine white, but from a can from bmw of alpine white not even a close match so must at some point have been resprayed...
Didn't they change the mixture of the colours a while back??
I have known companies here in the UK to change the colours but keeps the names (go figure!!) such as Rover (no wonder they went bust!!!)
You say you got the paint from BMW, but did they select it from you VIN number??
Other than that..... Time to get the smooth cutting compound out , along with a tin of Elbow grease!!
yes paint was from bmw who got all details from vin number.
no amount of rubbing compound would help due to the bigger colour difference.
found someone who will match the paint for me and spray in the two little bits that need the spraying doing.... £120...
