Anyone have a 530i 2001 or newer with a stick??? I have 37k on the car and feel a slipage in the clutch??? I have brought it to the dealer a few times and get the usual "can not duplicate the problem" speel..... also I have noticed a that it is more difficult to get the car in gear, especially when cold and overall just rougher to shift gears.... anyone have this problem and a known fix.
Clutch Delay Valve
I believe that there is a clutch relay valve on your car. It limits the rate at which the clutch is released and has been known to cause similar problems. You can remove it but since you are most likely under warranty there is a manufacturer that sells dummy ones that are the stock part with no internals. I can find the link if you need it.

what do you know, the clutch problem has not occured in a few weeks but the roughness of the gear shifter remains. I raised hell with BMW of North America, they are looking into the problem as well as my tire wear problem. I have been through 5 sets of tires, all of them with wore unevenly and had severe cupping/feathering. I am not sure what is causing the problem, alignment is good as I have it aligned every 5k miles. We will see what happens.
my car does the same thing when it's cold. It's hard to get the second gear in especially. I thought it was just the cold weather. Good luck with the dealer.
