All of a sudden, only the right side of my vents in my 94 E34 is blowing hot air with all climate controls turned off. When I turn on the AC to compensate for the unwanted extra heat, cool air comes from the left vents and hot air continues to blow from the right vents. WTF??
I searched the forum, but I could not find any posts with the same type of problem.
Any clues anyone?
Certain models have tiny temp sensors built-in to the top of each vent, one or more could've failed !! OR, the dreaded "Hedgehog" resistor is playing up !!

Thanks for your response Dabsy.
By process of elimination, I was able to isolate the problem to the right windshield defroster vent. Do you know where I can find that sensor to replace it? The complete Bentley repair manual for the E34 does not indicate the location of these vent sensors.
TBH this could be hard... Not sure whether the vent will will pop-out, but if your car has these sensors then there will be a wire and a very small probe in there...
Have you tried sourcing a european version of the manual? Identical except for the obvious LHD/RHD set-up !
Have you chased and checked the hoses/flaps to the vent? Could be something worth looking at...
