When I step on the brakes I get a "click" (more like a high pitched "clunk") sound coming from what sounds like one of the wheel wells. Sometimes I can feel it in the brake pedal. It doesn’t happen the second I step on the brakes, but after I slow to probably 2-3 mph, just before the car comes to a stop. Seems to happen more often once the car warms up. Braking doesn't seem to be affected, no grinding noises, comes to a stop just fine. Rotors were resurfaced not long ago, along with a new set of Padgit pads. Probably 5000 miles on them. Just started recently. Any ideas?
i would think it's the hard 2nd to 1st gear downshift which seems pretty common amongst BMW's. i had the same problem in my E46. i just had the DME reprogrammed/updated. Problem solved.

Nah, its definitely not coming from the tranny, its not really a "clunk" in the shift. All my gears shift very smoothly up and down.
Loveless - check my pads for what specifically? How they are fitted on the caliper? I will give it a looksee this weekend, I haven't had a chance to take the wheels off yet...
Well, took it by my buddy's shop this morning and he pinpointed the issue pretty quickly. It is in my rear pads, looks like maybe they are for some reason slapping around in the caliper (up and down) as I brake going forward. Braking going backwards doesnt repro the issue. So looks like they probably need to be replaced. Either way, not a big or expensive problem, thankfully...
