Chirp When Starting Question

My 525i now emits a short chirp (not to be confused with the chirps you get when setting the alarm) when I turn the key to start the car. It seems to be coming from the passenger side of the front compartment. Maybe the door speaker?

Any ideas what this can be?

Could be power going to the speaker,or it could be one of the air flaps in the dash opening up, best to get someone in the seat while you start up and get them to find the noise.

It seems to be coming from behnid the glove box. It was a short chirp each time I started the car. The last time I started the car it was an chirp for a few seconds then stopped. I have not heard it since.

I doubt my troubles are over.

Sounds to me like a vent flap, they all have these, when I turn mine off it sounds like its talking to me, dont worry its normal.

My 2002 530i is doing the same thing. Started as a few chirps when first started, but now chirping is mostly continuous. Could this be a bearing in a ventilation fan?

Believe it or not, my chirping stopped and (knock on wood) I have not had the issue for months.

I would be interested to know what it is as I am sure this will be something that returns.....

Just a thought it might be a leaf or something of that nature than has got it to the ventilation system and just getting flicked by the fan at high speed of the fan rotation.
