Chip Or Not To Chip

Was down at the shop yesterday and asked for a tuning chip for my E34.He wondered if i had any turbo or compressor and i said no, then he toldme that the chip wont do me much good.
Is this true? or will it acctually give my 520 any more horses?

And btw, what chip is the best? and what should i be asking for?

Finding a chip for your e34 5er might be more difficult, as they aren't as widespread based on a quick search I did. If you can find one, I would imagine the gains wouldn't be anything huge, especially if your car is stock otherwise.

Worth it? It would completely depend on cost, and what they chip's dynoed gains would yield.

I don't see a 520 there because they didn't produce them in America, but I'm fairly sure you could obtain one.

I wouldn't get a drop in chip for any of my cars.

The best results will come from a custom tune, but that requires a tuneable chip and some dyno time.
