I have a wholesale account with Crevier BMW in SoCal, they quoted me $310.32 out the door for both OEM Celis tail lights. If anyone in the area wants to pick up a pair give me a shout. If you would like you can pick them up yourself from the dealer using my account. Question is if this a good buy or not n. I have not done any shopping around on for these yet, so I wouldn't know. Also, whats the diff between the ones straight from the dealer and the Hella ones????

The BMW tailights are Hella I believe, so no difference. Question is will they fit my '97 540i without much trouble? If so I would be willing to pay shiping if you can grab me a pair.
They will fit your 97' e39 but make sure they come with ballasts or they won't work. Also, when installing the lights, THERE IS A L AND A R ballast cable. I know it sounds retarded but it had me stumped for a bit because of the german instructions.
good luck...I have gotten so many compliments on mine. Simply my favorite style tail lights I have ever seen.

I am alos interested in a pair, but what is the real deal on the GAP that allows water to seep into your trunk? I am a bit puzzled by that, as all of the CELIS Tails I have seen look like a real snug fit.

To be honest I have very little knowledge on the gap and water leak issue. From what I read is that hole you have to drill out in order to fit the tail lights are not proper cut/alighned. Someone correct me if im wrong?

When doing the upgrade I can see that water could seep through if the foam gasket provided is not secured properly. Make sure that it is set in the right position and you'll be all taken care of.
