I have a '93 525i and do not have the trunk cd changer, but would like to upgrade/replace my existing radio. My factory radio has a tape stuck in it and I would like either a mp3 or cd player, what complications am I facing and how hard is it to just add the cd changer in trunk? thanks.

Is your 5-series already prewired for a CD Changer?

Open up the trunk, and along the right side of the car, there should be a black button that says "Wired for CD Changer", or something to that effect.

If so, you lift up the fabric on the left side of the trunk, and there should be a wire that connects directly to a CD Changer.

All you need then is an actual changer and some mounting brackets, and, there you go.
