Smile Car shaking

My 90 525 has a weird shake around 45-65 worse at 60 and a little over. It also shakes realy bad when I am braking and the tranny down shifts I mean the whole car shakes right to left. I have replaced the rotors, pads, I need a pitman arm is this what is causing it. Most of the other suspension parts have been replaced up front. I also have a metal ticking sound when I goes over bumps or uneven roads in the back, the sound goes away if I brake over a bump. Also there is the loud ticking from the right rear when I first start the car and drive it. The tick only comes on when driving at low speed and goes away after a few brakings like over the speed bumps in my neighborhood could this be the sound I hear when I go over bumps or uneven road? What could all this be Thank you anyone for you suggestions.

You need new control arms and while you're at it replace both of your struts, and stablizer end links.

Well on thursday of that week I put the post up I went on a trip to my parents house in SC about a 4 hour drive and half way through it my car was shaking horrible just like the shake I had described but worse! Well come to find out my right front and driver rear tires had broken belts in them and the rear tire was about an inch bloated over the normal tread. I can't believe it they had good tread and were about 3 years old, also had correct pressure. Well i got some yokohamas They are NICE!!! so much smoother! I still have a fast shaking/bumping when I hit 10mph and 25mph but after that the car is soooooo smooth. What could that be??? Thank You all. Every one has been so nice and great I appreciate it. THANX!!!

Well I feel REALLY stupid. I took it to my Dads shop ,visting, and had one of the mechanics look at it cause it started shaking all the time and he put it on the lift and had me accelerate to see what was happening. My rear brakes were warped bad and what is most suprising is my drive shaft had almost come apart. The u joint behind the tranny was wron very bad and was almost at the pint of coming apart. I changed the drive shaft and rear brakes and now the car has no shake or anything and accelerates smooth and brakes smooth. I was shocked that it was the drive shaft causing all these problems. My Dad said it is common for drive shafts to go out on cars that it is a normal wear item. What causes this to wear? I have never heard or seen a car need a drive shaft.

u-joints go bad and will make a violent shake like that. You'll probably sell the car before you'll need another one. They are just like your wheels, they rotate, and at high speeds, so they too, need to be balanced just like your wheels. Glad you fixed the problem. A new drive shaft would probably be expensive.

Thats not too bad, as long as the u-joints are good/new, it'll last years. Well you car is 17 years old like mine, so if it lasts another 17 years you'll be good to go...
