I just got a brand new tranny, and as many of you know my car was gone for 2 months +. So now it is back there...hope they can make it go fast this time. BUT GOD DAMMIT! I think its tranny fluid, and the tranny is BRAND NEW. Disapointing but they are fixing it.
Ok so BMW just called and said that it was Engine Oil, not tranny fluid...and they said it is because the dipstick is not pushed in all the way. IS THIS POSSIBLE?
Very possible since the dipstick has a rubber like insert at the buttom while it is held in place by a bolt towards the top.
Notes:
A>if the colors in pics above are "true colors" it looks like brownish not red- unlike the tranny's!
B> Can this car be covered under any section for a lemon law? Too much is too much..isn't it?
Not a lemon, lol...it has been perfect until the tranny failed...then it took 2 months + to get my tranny to fail while in the hands of BMW so they could prove it to the claims adjuster. Then they fixed, and now this happened. So from all the info I have given, It is very possible that it was the dipstick?
