2002 BMW 5 Series 530i #B5450B at BMW of Newport, Middletown RI

Im going to be traveling a little ways to see this bimmer later this week.
Few questions - Is that a Factory HID color? It seems a little bluer than normal. the car is nearing 60k miles. Is there a maintenance service required for 60k?

For starters, be sure and get a Carfax report.

My guess is that is a factory HID color.

At 60k, you will probably need to do a couple of things for maintenance. Inspection II is probably due or will be pretty soon. If it has already been completed, then that is good.

Expect to overhaul the cooling system, except for the radiator, particularly the water pump.

Some would advise for a fuel filter change.

Find out if all that maintenance has been performed in the recent past. If teh answer is no, then use that to bargain the price down.

Interesting that the car has fold-down rear seats. That's a very rare option on a 540, much less a 530!

Carfax report! It will save you time and money in the long run. Before I purchaed my 06 525xi I got a carfax report. Since I wasnt buying a CPO vehicle I got the vin number and called my nearest BMW dealer and asked them to give me the maintenance history on the vehicle. If the pervious owner had any work done at a BMW dealer they will have the info such as last oil change or any maintainence that was done. Good luck.

That HID color looks factory to me. It's already been said, but definitely get a carfax report. If BMW of Newport has actually only serviced the car then they should have all of the record as well.

I bought a 2002 540iA about a year ago for 15,750. It had
about 65,000 miles, sport package, laydown rear seats, ski
bag, premium sound, black leather and all the other stuff
that comes with them.

And I am looking for 540 or 530, 2002 or 2003 with nav. screen, electronic distance sensor back & side curtains … low mileage & good condition.

My current 530 is approaching 350,000 KM & it is time to change it by e39 with better condition … I can arrange someone to coordinate for me in US
