I want to get the Nav but it is kind of pricey but was curious if you can install it in the 5 series after I buy the car. My dealer said it is only a factory installed option, but that does not make sense, with a little wiring I think this should be possible. Has anyone done this? I have the same question for the Heads-up Display
The heads up display would be very hard to do. I'm sure the DVD screen is probable. The issue wit the heads up is he amount of parts and its integration into the car, location, focus, and everything else. Maybe when you hit the lottery u can take it back to the dealership for the headsup

I'm want to do the same, the answer i get is that its possible, but they need to give the several components list, i'm waiting already for 3 months on the components list, they also said they needed to reprogram the computer to activate the navi
Yeah, trust me, it's something you do NOT want to mess around with, in my experince working on BMW electronics (Heads up, relay, OB computer, wiring integration, etc, it's definetely not for the average user... yeah I second ///M Power... IF you win the lottery... lol
