Can I swap my e34 3.0L v8 with a e34 4.0L v8 & tarnny?

I wanted to upgrade to the 4.0 v8 M60 and it's tranny and wonder if the 530iA I have will bolt-up to the this 540iA eng & tranny?

I know the trans are different models and wonder if same

bolt patern and lentgh to match my e34 530iA.

yes u can do that, u have to get every thing from the 540 like engine, tranny, driveshaft wiring harness ECU and everything else is easy, u need also 540 tranny mounting coz the 530 is smaller.

So the 4.0L and it's tranny will fit my driveshaft but need the trans mount?

Have you done this before or know how it's done with my 530 chassis?

Are the engine & trans mount locations the same but need the 4.0L trans carrier bracket for strength/mounting?

So are you saming the 4.0L and it's trans are longer than my 530 with trans?

Thanks for your advice/experience.
