Hey all, I just put down money on a 1997 BMW 528i and will probably be getting the car next week. This is my first BMW and just from the test drive I was pretty impressed with the car as a whole. I do have one gripe about it and thats just that the car doesnt have a CD player. In my current truck, I have a Pioneer 6300 CD player and I was wondering if this CD player will fit in the place where the cassette player is, or do I have to get a specialized CD player?
It would be nice to just transfer my current CD player rather than to spend money on a brand new one (or CD changer) and plus I might transfer my current subwoofers into the car. Thanks for any info you guys can give me!
if ur truck has a standered CD player i dont see why it wouldnt swap into the bmw, might need a wiring harness

when my sister took her car in to the dealship they told her she needed some kind of a adapter (but it was the dealership)
plus i don't think the head would match too well in that car... i would just get a changer
Thanks for the replies everyone. Alanh, the adapter may just be a new wiring harness, but then again, it could be a little "case" that the cd player has to sit in. I just wasnt sure if my CD player would fit in there and I guess it probably will. Since there is the little flip up/down wood grain thingy in front of the Cassette player, I wouldnt mind having my Pioneer CD player in there since I can easily cover it up. The downside with the CD changer is that I dont get to have all the options for tuning my speakers as I would with the Pioneer CD player. I think I may just slap in the CD player and probably at least one of my subwoofers. Thanks once again.
