The chrome pipe on the engine of my e34 525td has snapped at the flange on the turbo side of the engine, can anyone tell me if this is serious as i have lost acceloration when travellin in high gears, dont know if it is to do with the turbo or engine pressure.Am going to bmw to price one today but expect a shock.
The pipe travels across the top/front of the engine.
It does,nt show the pipe on the diagram, but it bolts to the side of the inlet ,comes round the front of the engine and bolts to the engine just under/behind the turbo, you have to remove the air box to see it properly.the support pipe from the air box to the turbo was also split, just ducktaped that for now.
Thanx for the link also, have been trying to find exploded images for my engine
Here you go, just click on what part you want to look at on the right, then click on the diagram, you can zoom in if req using the zoom at the bottom of your screen just above the time:
Thanx for the help on this,i managed to find what i needed at a scrapyard. When i changed it my airfilter was sucked almost inside out, though it has improved my higher speed acceleraton
