So I was cleaning my car and I am a freak about detail, so to ensure gallons of water dont fall outta the cracks when I start driving I clean them all. So I had my windsheid wipers extended off the windows for cleaning. Then I decided to open the hood to get the water outta the cracks the hood makes. BIG MISTAKE. THe wiper blade hit the hood and snapped a piece of the blade holder. The guy at bmw claims it helps hold the blade down at high speed and high crosswind. But anyways it was stupid. Good thing I have 5 coats of Klasse on my hood with sealent, it didnt make a mark at all. So the parts on order. $35
Same crap happened to me a couple weeks ago, only I had the wiper blade off. Shattered the windshield. SUCKED. You got off easy. I got pix of the windshield if you want proof. <sigh> cars are always costing something.
The only way i know that the wipers are up is when i open the bonnet (ok, ok "hood") it hits the wipers and wont go up any further!
They have never broken on me!

You could make millions. Like air blasts from compressor to blow the water off.

The weird thing is, I told my dad the exact same thing a couple days ago.

That sucks! Thank god I didn't break my window or scratch my paint. I picked up the part from BMW and installed it. Works great! I kinda needed it because it is RAINING IN CALIFORNIA!!! Its supposed to be hot
Yeah, the rain here in CA is kinda wierd, isn't it? bah. I want the sun back! Well - looks like we got some back today at least.. hopefully it'll stay with us for a while.
for all you that ever or HAVE a cracked windshield...check your insurance premium some of them cover it by paying a $50.00 deductable. I had State Farm years before and had a new windshield put on my supra. My brother just got a rock with flying wings attack his and cracked the hell outta it. With our current provider MERCURY same goes for them they replaced it for $50
