Braking Vibrations - BMW Forum

2002 525i -

So every time I come to a stop, I feel a vibrating feeling in the brake, but only when I am almost stopped... It feels like the brake pads are skipping against the discs when I am almost stopped with the brakes applied... Do I need new brake pads?

Oh and also, I noticed a smell too...

Probably warped rotors (discs).

the rotors are definitely warped and will have to be replaced...

You'll need probably the fronts... (Part: 34 11 1 164 839 - $85)

Before you order rotors, take a look. Im sure its the rotors aswell, but take a closer look. You may even want to upgrade your rotors for better heat dispersion and a better look!

So where can I get these new discs? And is $85 for the pair in the front?

Do you have instructions on how to change them, or is it pretty simple?

Also, while we're talking about the braking system, my pads let off an awful lot of dust in the front; do you have any suggestions regarding better pads for the front two? I think if I change the discs I would just change the pads as well. Hard to clean the rims... And that often too...
