I need some advice on how to fix the opening mechanism for me trunk. Firts off when I push it down it sticks, and I need to use my key to pull it out. This makes me a little nervous, is there anything I can do fix this!!
Second there is a slight showing of rust that I want to address around the bottom half of the button, is this something I can fix or something I need to bring to a body shop??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
See attached for picture!
Thanks
Scott
EDIT: Apparently I can't spell...I meant the button to open my trunk is sticking...?? ghead
Have you tried lubing the mechanism yet? Sometimes a lil lubricant can go a long way. If that doesnt work then this isnt too difficult to get the panel off and access the lock unit. Just a few 1/4 turn fasteners and the panel will pull down and all that is needed to remove the lock assembly is regular hand tools. If you can get it out then you can see better what may be causing it to jam up.
Good Luck
