Hello, I’m new to the boards, and know very little about BMW’s (I’m a 05 Mustang GT and C6 Corvette owner) but I also have a 94 318i. The reason I’m here asking questions is because my friend is going to buy a 5 series (I’m not sure which one, but it will be 4 door) and he asked me what mods he can do to the car (since he always watches me adding something to the Mustang).
If there are some BMW performance sites that you guys like, or just some products that you have tried, or tips about what sort of modifications can be made (intakes, cat-backs, chips or tunes, etc) that would be great. Also, with my cars, I need to use computer-tuning devices to ‘tune’ the engine (change timing, fuel curves, torque management, etc) that add performance gains. Are there similar products on the market that work for BMW?
There is a fairly large aftermarket for BMW, The 5 series market is a bit more limited than the 3 series market, however you've still got turnermotorsport, Supersprint, Dinan, BMP Design, Remus, Dinan, Active Autowerke, and Bavarian Autosport who can provide the preformance gains you're looking at.
But dont only look for horsepower, many of the best upgrades for BMWs occour in suspension work
