I have a new aftermarket stereo kit...including the fascia (faceplate) and the wire harness for the 40 pin setup. How in the world do you get the fascia to mount in the existing spot securely? i do not understand how the fascia can be mounted securely enough to hold the stereo in place. Is there something I am missing?
P.S. the stereo I am trying to install is a single din Sony CDX-GT930U1
There was no metal carrier with the new fascia. Just the plastic faceplate that appears to have no way to securely mount to the factory spot. I have the Sony stereo metal sleeve but not sure if taht will be enough to secure the fascia.
Well, first of all, your "stereo" is under the push down flap on top of the display (MID). Have you remover the CD/cassette player from this location? This is a standard DIN radio with tabs on the side which hold the radio in place. Secondly, will the pull down cover fit over the display and controls of your new head unit? Thirdly, how are you integrating it with all of the other functions on the MID/dash/stering wheel controls?
