hey everyone
i did a search but didnt find anything. i currently own a 528e which the e stands for economy i believe, and im not doing too good on my gas consumption used: anyone else have this problem? anyone have any advice?
well i read somewhere that people were getting like 28 and 30. im getting 20 if im lucky. if i fill it to the very very top it will leak a little around the tank and will make a spot under the car.
i understand e, eta=high mpg high torque low rpm but im not getting high mpg i dont think. less than my older car (92 325i)
i replaced fuel filter, and the sending unit(i think thats what its called) inside the tank because my guage was flickering when it got less than half
the pump does make a whining buzzing noise and i do feel soft spots durring acceleration and rough idle.
I drive mine every day in traffic all city driving. The OBC says avg mph is 24.6 and avg mpg is 20.1. I have never driven the car on highy or longer then 1 mile at 50mph or more. My car has estimated 300k miles on it when I purchased it in November. I drive it about 150-170 miles a week. I did an Inspection II, fuel filter, fuel pump, water pump and timing belt. Thank God I work at a BMW dealer

does that help?
The 528e model has a mileage averaging to 19/25 mpg city/highway while the 535i models achieve 15/21 mpg in city/highway.......
So give it a tune up and take it from there.....
Good luck
