i just bought with 114,000 miles. checkengine light came on. i had it checked and it said upstream o2 sensor needed changed. when light came on again it said one of the downstreams also needed to be changed. i drive for aprox. 300 miles each time before light comes back on. i have bought all four sensors and am going to buy fuel filter. the the intake manifold vent valve was replaced at 88,000 miles at bmw dealership. i here it clicking. can it cause the check engine light to come on and can it cause these codes? bmw told me it wont throw the check engine light on, but my research shows it would. should it be completly quiet. car runs great. no hesitation at all. can someone please suggest some ideas. m car also came with phone hookup. how can i get bluetooth or is it already installed

TBH, I don't think the V-Valve should make a noise, maybe its a relay nearby !!!
As for bluetooth, the BT module (if you have that option) will be in the boot with the changer etc...

I have a 2004 530i that constantly has failed to start on several occasions over the past month. Took it to Pep Boys and was told that the battery was okay. Again, after sitting for 2 weeks, the car wouldn't start again. Jumped it, took it to the dealer. They did an energy diagnosis and said that it was time for a new battery. Cost-$696.00 parts and labor!!! Ca this battery not be replaced somewhere else? Was told that the battery had to be married to the system, etc. Grief!!!
Made an appt. to have it done at dealer but I was just curious....

Nah mate, any battery with identical Cranking Amps and Terminals would be ok...
There is a three-number code on top of the battery, try getting the same or higher output one !
