hey everybody! first of all hi!! im soon gonna join the bmw community by purchasing a bwm 525 from a friend, as he has confirmed me also that the car has never given him any problems and always has been very well mantained...now the question is...
what are the things i should look for??(tech issues etc)
any help would be deeply appreciated..thanx
overheating. anything over the middle mark on the gauge might mean big problems. extensive overheating = warped head = $$$
shaking between 55-60mph and when braking ... thrust arm bushings; not that expensive; will need to be done every now and then if you want the car to handle and ride like a BMW.
the electronics -- heating,a/c etc. they usually never break, but it's a old car so it's possible.
Other than that, it's just the usual stuff you would look out for on all other cars.
Welcome to bimmerwerkz. Sorry about no responses; this should really be called e36bimmerwerkz.com as all traffic is pretty much tied to the e36 3-series section. if you are however looking for a good e34-specific forum, I suggest you join www.bimmer.info << very knowledable people there. But do stick around here as well.
