Bluetooth delay on 550i

I have had my 550 now for 1 month. I was wondering if anyone knew why or how to fix the delay with switching from handset to Car. If I am on a call when I get in the car. The phone switches immediately to bluetooth, but there is no response on the car for about 30 seconds. Most people just hang up because we cannot hear each other. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I just bought an '08 X5 and when the bluetooth is trying to find the car, I cannot hear the person I am speaking with for a while. We also usually end up hanging up.

I am surprised there are not more people complaining about this. For someone who uses my phone in the car for business, this is an everyday frustration.

I am currently in a loaner and the car is at the dealer for this exact issue. The loaner does it as well.

They are looking to see if there are any chances of fixing this in the future. But, right now it seems there is nothing that can be done.

Thanks for the reply. I told BMW about this and they said I am lucking it is only 30 second delay. Some people have to wait 1 min and 30 sec!....Crazy to me that BMW would let their cars be released to the public with this big of a problem. No big deal right....wow! I had a Infiniti G37 and that sucker switched to the car phone with zero transition delay. Thought I was buying a superior car.... I guess it is in driveability anyway.
