i have a 2005 5 series. i was able to link the phone and car. however, using the idrive, i can't access any of the dara/memory stored on the phone. for example, if i wanted to call mr buddy jim, i'd have to search for the number on the phone, then press the send button. or, i could manually dial jim's number using the idrive knob. is there a way i could directly call jim using the idrive? the confusing part is if jim calls me, his name will pop up on the car's screen.
Ok, was making sure you had an approved phone. So let me make sure I understand you correctly, did the phone's internal phone book download into the car or did it not? If it did then are you just not familiar with how to operate the system or do you suspect there is a problem?
I dont know exactly how the bluetooth works with cars, but the problem may lie in where the phone number is stored. Is the number stored in the SIM card or in the Phone? Try and put the phone number in the opposite and maybe that wil remedy the situation> Get back to us because I would love to know if it worked!
Good Luck!
