It's been over three weeks since I drove my car. The car's been sitting still in the driveway I rented in Brooklyn since that time. I am a little worried that I will show up on Thursday night to take off for Atlanta and I will have no juice in the battery. Any wisdom to share about how long one can allow an E39 to sit before the battery dies?
I think it could sit for quite awhile i left my benz in the driveway for amonth and a half and didn't strt it and it fired right up. so you should be fine.

One difference between an older benz and a newer bimmer is that the newer bimmer has computers and gadgets still running when the car is off...thus causing a certain amount of drain on the battery.
It should be fine. I left my Impreza parked for a month earlier this year, and it fired right up when I came back from vacation ... now, it doesn't really have many electronic gadgets (it's most sophisticated gadget is ... the radio), but our Audi also fired right up after the same month of sitting, and that has computers and electronics out the ass (and designed by the ruiner of everything electrical: VW).

I have an Alarm, dvd player, radio, and clock.
