Back wiper

I have a question, on my Tourer the back wiper seem to stop working but if slam the back tail gate the thing will start to work again, so i thing it must be a earth problem, but i cant seem to find the earth....can some one point me in the right direction.

If it is a ground problem, wouldn't it cause other things like lights on the lift gate to stop working? I would think it could be any loose connection.

I'm with witeshark(there! got spelling right this time :-p ) loose connections...

and i will add my 2 bits worth:

when u feel comfy with the coonections, check also the area where of the wires where the hinges are.... they're notorious for breaking and you cant see 'em because of the insulation/s
